Puerto Rico Wing’s Cadet Tradition Brought Back
Guaynabo, PR – A formidable match took place between four teams representing their respecting squadrons during the one-day long 2019 PRWG Cadet Competition held at Fort Buchanan’s facilities on Saturday, December 21, 2019.
“This is the first time [for] seven years that we held a competition in the Puerto Rico Wing. The last one was in 2012, we are very honor to have new four teams competing this year”, Lt Col Ismael J. Rodriguez, Project Officer and Director of Cadet Programs.
The units that participated were Arecibo Cadet Squadron (PR-034), Aguadilla Cadet Squadron (PR-035), Dr. Cesareo Rosa Nieves Cadet Squadron (PR-123) and Muñiz ANG Base Cadet Squadron (PR-126).
At the end of the day, the scores were evaluated, results written down and the winners announced. Teams participated in thirteen events and were evaluated by a panel of judges in each of them. The overall winners were:

Two cadets were recognized individually for their extraordinary performance during the CPFT and a perfect score in the Written Exam, respectively.

The teams from Muñiz ANG Base Cadet Squadron (PR-126) and Dr. Cesareo Rosa Nieves Cadet Squadron (PR-123) will represent the Puerto Rico Wing at the Southeast Region Competition that will be held in April 2020.
