Chief Master Sergeant Evaristo López Figueroa is a consummate leader and the first Senior Enlisted Leader for the Puerto Rico Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. López Figueroa, a native of Puerto Rico, has a significant impact on all matters that concern the force of more than 1,100 adult members and cadets throughout the island and the U.S. Virgin Islands. His dedication to service is a continuation of his impressive 25 years of honorable and distinguished service, combining active service in the United States Air Force and the Puerto Rico Air National Guard.

During his extensive career, López Figueroa served with distinction and retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He specialized in the crucial field of Emergency Management (AFSC 3E9X1), where he held the position of Superintendent of Emergency Management. His career included active duty service and periods with the Air National Guard, which provided him with a unique perspective on joint operations. In addition to his operational duties, López Figueroa served proudly as First Sergeant, assuming the main responsibility for the well-being, morale and discipline of hundreds of airmen. In his leadership roles, he was instrumental in the preparation and implementation of contingency plans, ensuring the success of the missions and the survival capacity of the force.

After a successful transition after a quarter of a century of service, SMSgt (Ret.) López Figueroa channeled his passion for serving others and supporting the community through the Civil Air Patrol. Ascending to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant within the CAP structure, his historic appointment as the first Senior Enlisted Leader of the Puerto Rico Wing is a testament to his ability to transfer military excellence to the volunteer environment. In this role, CMSgt López Figueroa contributes directly to the three main missions of the Civil Air Patrol: emergency services, fundamental for disaster response in Puerto Rico; aerospace education and the cadet program, developing the future leaders of our society.

Chief Master Sergeant Evaristo López Figueroa maintains an unwavering commitment to serve his community and develop future leaders. He combines his vast military experience of 25 years as emergency management superintendent and first sergeant with his dedication to volunteering to support the vital missions of the Puerto Rico Wing, while ensuring the well-being, morale and professional development of the enlisted members under his leadership.
